How to be an awesome interviewee

I'm looking forward to talking with you!

I want to have a conversation you are proud of and want to share with colleagues, friends, family, potential employees, and future partners.

We will talk about you, your company, the problems you solve, and focus on your go-to-market strategy and tactics.

I don't have a standard list of questions however before we start recording we will decide what the main topic will be for the interview. This will be something other cybersecurity founders, CEOs, CROs, CMOs and team members will learn from.

My podcast producer, Igor, has some logistics details and recommendations for you (or your admin) below.

Talk soon.

Hi, I'm Igor and I produce the Cyber GTM Talk Podcast for Andrew.  Some details:

Audience: Founders, leaders, investors and go-to-market teams at cybersecurity companies

Length: the interview will last 30-40 minutes.  You have a 60-minute slot to give time to chat at the start and end.

Format: the primary format is an audio podcast.  We will use video snippets to promote the podcast on LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.

To make this a great interview:
  • Be ready with stories, anecdotes, and learnings others might be surprised by. Above all else, these will engage the audience the most.
  • Be specific in your answers.  Bland generalizations are... bland!
  • Be succinct with your answers. Interviews become boring if they ramble!

To get high quality audio you should:

  • Use a dedicated microphone.  Unfortunately laptop mics, AirPods, and phone mics are not for podcasts.
  • Use headphones to listen to the audio feed. This much better that using your laptop speakers.
  • Do the interview in a quiet room, preferably with soft furnishings to dampen any echo and with great internet
  • Ensure you are using the up-to-date version of Chrome / Edge
  • Close all other tabs and browsers (the recording can eat up resources)
  • If you are on a laptop, have it plugged in and charging
  • As a backup, we will use QuickTime / native Windows recorder to record as well, please have the latest version downloaded and ready.

I'm looking forward to hearing (and editing) the interview.
